Demo/Tech Specialist

The US Demo/Tech Coordinator creates outstanding customer experiences by planning and executing remote demo events for SR SUNTOUR and the US and Canada. This experiential marketing function should engage, inform and “wow” the customer—both retailers and end-consumers alike. It requires the ability to live and work on the road, as well as a passion for mountain bikes and turning people on to the sport and brand. It also requires mechanical aptitude to build and maintain a fleet of demo bicycles as well as providing dealer educational seminars.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): 

Deliver an outstanding and distinct brand and product experience to potential customers 

Stoke out existing customers, sales reps, and retailers with enthusiasm and support—and a human touch 

Help take brand messaging from HQ to the field, sales floor, and end consumer 

Create an exciting, inviting, brand-right presence at every opportunity and location 

Book, organize, and communicate demo schedule 

 

Teach and educate bicycle retail staff on product and service

Facilitate cordial and professional communications with retailers, sales reps, and event organizers 

Document demo events with photographs and reports 

Channel product and brand feedback from field to appropriate internal departments 

Build and maintain a fleet of up to 12 bicycles in ‘like new’ condition 

Maintain Demo equipment—demo rig, easy-up tents, displays, tools, stands, etc. 

Adhere to Demo Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all related operations 

Ensure on-road safety and security of all company Demo assets and personnel 

Competencies and Requirements:


High school diploma and minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or customer service 

A clean driving record and ability to drive up to eight hours per day 

Ability to comfortably drive a large vehicle and or trailer 

Knowledge and/or aptitude of bike maintenance and mechanics 

Knowledge and/or aptitude with mountain bike fit and suspension set-up 

Competence and comfort with relevant electronic tools—computers, tablets, software, etc. 

Excellent communication and people skills 

Excellent on-the-road organizational skills 

Ability to work independently and remotely

Ability to maintain a professional image 24/7 

Patience, maturity, and self-motivation 

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or customer service; ability to pass the DOT physical exam; a clean driving record and ability to drive up to eight hours per day.
