The season highlight for any athlete competing in XC or DH is the World Championships. After winning both men’s and women’s DH World Cups (Lourdes, Fort William) this season with the POLYGON UR team, the SRSUNTOUR suspension engineers were focused on delivering the fastest time on the course at Cairns. The characteristics of the course are tight turns, technical rock garden, two climbs and a long flat pedal section to the finish line. A challenging set of requirements for any suspension.

Following an initial suspension test session with data acquisition early 2017 and a second approval a week before the competition, we landed the 3rd best time for Tracey and the fastest time for Mick during the timed session. The suspension set up proved to be flawless.

The final race day: Tracey’s run began with a crash, she lost a huge amount of time but a furious run including a hell of a lot of pedalling to the finish line rescued the bronze medal.
Mick’s run went perfectly and he hammered a time into the jungle course that held until the the last top 5 riders.
In the end Mick’s fabulous time was beaten by a fraction of a second (0,3sec).
The silver medal had a golden shine for a moment and what seemed to be lost turned into a bronze medal. We’ve had our fair share of good and bad luck. What we’ve learned from it is that you have to be super lucky to win without luck.
